Well, I watched the appearances of both McCain and Obama before the AARP convention and, let me tell you, I really don’t know why McCain is running for President other than to feed his ego.  Here’s the thing, McCain spoke in sound bites, said nothing about what he would do as President to resolve any of the issues, gave huge sighs after being asked questions after the first one like he was annoyed and bored with the whole process and didn’t seem to have a grasp on the reality of the average American’s current situation.

Obama, on the other hand, talked about specifics.  Showed he had a firm grasp of the details of the problems facing the average American and gave suggested steps toward solving those problems.

So, the question before us is, do we vote for a guy who seems to be bored and dis-interested in the problems facing America because he has a female running mate?  The notion that McCain and his keepers and his pitbull running mate believe that women will vote for the ticket simply because there’s a female on the ticket is extremely insulting.  When Palin stated in her ABC interview that Obama wishes he had a woman on his ticket that was such a slap in the face of grown woman.  Are women so ignorant and stupid that they’ll vote based on gender even if the woman’s views are repugnant to them?  I think not.

Or, do we vote for the candidate who has shown a solid understanding of the problems facing America, responds in complete sentences and not sound bites, and offers steps towards resolving the problems?

I know who I’m voting for, and it’s not the ticket that speaks in sound bites, believes women vote based on gender and offers no solutions to the problems Americans face.
